The Poetry Arcade

Hello Reading Freaks!

We are pleased to invite you and certainly hope you join us for the inaugural event, The Poetry Arcade, a free poetry event Hosted by Shwa Laytart, and presented by Avantpop Bookstore. 

We work with some outstanding poets. We want to highlight not only the talented poets that have contributed to the Avantpop Punk Poetry Antholozine, but also a number of talented poets throughout Las Vegas.  We also want to give them an opportunity to be compensated for their words and for their performance.

So how does the Poetry Arcade work? A series of poets will read their work on stage. After hearing each reading, patrons can select their favorite poets and give them tokens in exchange for a personal, recorded reading in the Avantpop Podcast Room for up to 2 minutes. Tokens can also be given to poets as a gift of gratitude, like poetry busking! Much like an arcade, tokens can be purchased at Avantpop Bookstore that can then be used for a personal reading of the poet's work. At the end of the event, the poets redeem their tokens for cash. 

We hope that you join us for what is sure to be an exciting, thought-provoking, and unique experience.
